Our staff is our greatest asset.  When we decide to enhance our staff we hand pick over many applicants.

Every person brings a gentle hand, soothing voice, and has demonstrated a natural ability to handle dogs and cats, in addition they all are caring and in tune to our guests and display the necessary passion for animals.

You will find them working with the dogs with a smile on their face.  Each person you meet here absolutely Loves what they do!

You may have read about my qualifications on the home page.  Here is a brief recap.

Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to our other team members.

BIO

Gina Vesco, Certified PCT, by ABKA, Professional All Breed Groomer & handler since 1973.

The kennel owner and operator since 1986.

My first job at the age of 15 was right here at Shores Kennels...36 years of doing what I love to do.  Not many people are lucky enough to say that!

I live on the premises and over see day to day operations.

I am experienced in handling all breeds of dogs and cats, in all stages of their lives from newborn to geriatric. Breeder of multiple purebred Champion Cocker Spaniels, Golden Retrievers and Vizsla.

Sue DeWulff

I have been fortunate to be involved with my passion of dogs for over twenty years.

My canine career began in 1988 as a puppy caregiver for a small family owned pet shop.

In 1989 I purchased my first Golden Retriever, realizing a childhood dream of breeding puppies.

Invaluable insight into dog behavior has accumulated through many hours observing mother dogs with their puppies.

While rearing sound/well balanced puppies was always of utmost importance, I pursued greater knowledge.

My motivation for achieving excellence in this endeavor took me on a journey of research, study, classes, and seminars from dog massage to formal training.

Having successfully trained multiple dogs to upper competition levels in obedience and agility, I have gained the experience for teaching others to train their pets.

My knowledge of the physical care and needs of dogs was acquired by working as a veterinarian assistant for an Animal Hospital.

While working as  a dog handler for a professional photographic company, I was able to gather insight in a dog’s natural behavior and response.

Having experienced the large group play daycare facilities, I am most comfortable with the play style Shores Kennels provides for your pet’s best interest.

Now retired from  breeding and showing,  I continue to enjoy keeping company with canines.

Donna has been a friend and employee for a long time now. I first met here when she boarded her pets with us!

She is a great handler and trainer and a wonderful work partner and friend. She now lives in the Grand Rapids area but fills in for me every few weeks when I take a break.

Matt Killebrew

Matt has grown up around dogs being raised right here at Shores Kennels.  He divides his work week up and works for Patterson Veterinary Hospital where he assists in handling dogs for the Veterinarians and seeing to their needs while they are hospitalized.

He is a gentle giant and the dogs respond to his gentle nature and soft touch.

Patti Gillam

Patti is new to our staff and loves working with dogs. Efficient and calm the dogs take to her naturally.
