We require current vaccines.  They are:

Rabies - Required by State Law- as this is a disease that is transmitted to humans. It is a vaccine given at 5 months of age, booster at 1 1/2 years and then done every 3 years after that booster.

DHLPP- This is the  Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus combination vaccine.  This is a yearly vaccine with some veterinarians following their own vaccination protocol and vaccinating every other year or every third year, we follow the protocol of your pet's veterinarian.

Bordetella- This is commonly known as "canine cough or kennel cough" This vaccine's manufacturer recommends yearly booster.  Some veterinarian's prefer every six months.  Again, we defer to your pet's health care provider*.

*HOWEVER, it is our experience that pet's receiving this vaccine immediately prior to their arrival at the kennel can and often do come down with a mild form of the virus a few days after receiving the booster. We ask that you  PLEASE vaccinate your pet AT LEAST three weeks before his visit to the kennel.  The virus can be introduced to the facility by individuals who get this mild form.  I would ask in short notice or emergency situations that if you do not already have the booster that you do not get the vaccine immediately prior to arrival.

If your Veterinarian questions this policy, please feel free to have them call me, I will be happy to explain my experience.
